My path in life has been direct
1.
Theater fire in my home town in August of 1978.
2.
PSA flight 182 crash in San Diego in September of 1987, just a couple of miles away from my apartment, resulting in the loss of 144 lives.
3.
The revolution in my birth country in February1979 after a year of bloodshed and destruction.
4.
Loss of financial support due to the revolution.
5.
Birth of my first child in May of 1979.
6.
The Iran-Iraq war in 1980.
7.
The birth of my second child in January of 1981.

Experiences and challenges that shaped me
At age 20 I immigrated to US as a young wife and student. I did not speak English and had no friends or family in America except my husband. I got rid of my ego and smiled a lot. Many people genuinely tried to help me and make me feel at home.
