Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Myself:

College is too hard. I won't be able to graduate.

  • How I responded:

Because of my disability of dyslexia, I felt that college was too hard and that I wasn't able to achieve my goal in graduating with a degree. Now that I'm older, I'd tell my younger self to cut out all of the distractions, including people, and keep pushing because I can do it. I want to be the first-generation college graduate in my family to get a degree. I also want to be successful and not have to depend on my parents because they're not going to be here forever.
